Untitled Document Hawk Board Policy on flying non-indigenous or hybrid birds of prey as trained birds or at hack:

1. All raptors flown at liberty must carry a telephone number or contact details of the person responsible for them.
2. All raptors should carry transmitters capable of functioning for the duration of the period at liberty.
3. All raptors should be re-captured within a maximum of 30 days of liberty flying at hack.
4. The area surrounding the hack site should be attended by staff at all hours of daylight.
5. Hybrids should be imprinted if possible on a parent species that does not occur locally in the wild.
6. Maximum efforts should be made to recover any exotic or hybrid that is lost.
7. Exotics or hybrids must never deliberately be released.
8. These restrictions do not apply to pure-bred indigenous species of the local sub-species, but do apply to sub-species from elsewhere.

Notes: 1. is already HB policy. 5. Imprinting on humans is acceptable. 7. Already illegal under Section 14 WCA.
